Sip the People’s Choice: Cole Brekman’s Award-Winning Cocktail Comes to Gather 22
Gather 22 is proud to announce that our very own bartender, Cole Brekman, has been awarded the People’s Choice Award at the 2025 MUTT Cup cocktail competition in Indianapolis — and his winning cocktail, Mandatory Fun, will be available on our menu starting May 1.
Held annually by FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic, the Mutt Cup brings together some of the city’s best bartenders for a night of cocktails and community, all in support of affordable veterinary care for Indianapolis pets. This year’s competition featured a standout lineup — but it was Cole’s innovative cocktail that captured the crowd’s vote.
What’s in Mandatory Fun?
Cole’s cocktail is as bold and playful as its name suggests: Rye, Meletti, pomegranate, lemon, a sumac and sea salt foam, and a secret blend of spices come together to create a drink that’s both vibrant and deeply layered. It’s a masterclass in balance — herbaceous, tart, and subtly spiced — and it stole the show with its originality and unforgettable finish.
